Third Space Activations:

Shared community spaces, providing a third option from home or school, are vital to health and cultural vibrancy in Tenderloin Youth Safety Zone.  These spaces provide equitable access to outdoor recreation, the arts, and civic joy creating a sense of belonging and built community.

Elm Alley:

Elm Alley is one of the key spaces supported by the Tenderloin Community Action Plan (TCAP). This initiative transformed a formerly neglected, trash-filled alley adjacent to Tenderloin Community School into a safe, car-free zone that supports school drop-off and pick-up while doubling as an informal play space for students and neighborhood children.

Golden Gate Greenway:

The Golden Gate Greenway is a coalition of nonprofits, neighbors on the 100 block of Golden Gate Avenue, who believe in the power of community and human connection to make positive change, creating an oasis in the heart of the Tenderloin that benefits the community physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Eid Street Fair:

The annual Eid Festival, the largest in the Bay Area, honors and celebrates the rich cultures of the Tenderloin neighborhood. Dozens of organizations and small businesses collaborate to offer a vibrant bazaar featuring unique goods and pop-up food stalls representing the diversity of the Muslim community who call Tenderloin home.

A big thank you to our friends at The Tenderloin Voice for sharing their community events calendar.
